Distance leadership represents a complexity few leaders and managers are prepared for. Today's managers need to be able to lead across geographical boundaries and time zones; build a team identity and process; balance technical and social systems within the team; build trust among team members; and, facilitate the development of long-distance relationships.
While advances in technology have enabled organizations to locate team members closer to customers in small offices and other countries, technology alone does not foster team success. In a distributed world, communication takes on a whole new meaning when you're not face-to-face with your direct reports and team members.
In this highly interactive workshop, participants will be taught how to build a cohesive, responsive and committed work team by linking people you rarely see with technology to create a collaborative virtual environment. You will learn to master new competencies to meet the challenge of leading a virtual team. You will leave with your own distance leadership model, ready to harness the power of your team and organization.
