Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for Systems Engineers
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a method for systems engineers to examine potential failures in products or processes. It can also be used to evaluate risk management priorities by providing insights into the effects of mitigating known threats and vulnerabilities The use of FMEA helps to anticipate and prevent failures in both design and process performance. In today’s environment, FMEA is one of the most important “ilities” on which systems engineers need to focus.
In this highly-interactive two-day workshop, you will learn to assess the probability and nature of failures in your product and process designs. You will also learn proven techniques for identifying and minimizing defects in both manufacturing and service processes.
Via hands-on workshops and applications to your own systems, you will perform FMEAs, present your findings, critique the results, and plan for future applications. At the end of this program, you will have a new skill that you can apply right away to improve the reliability, security, safety, and suitability of your systems.
Included in the workbook materials is a section on Guidelines for Performing a Design and Process FMEA, a handy reference tool for use during the workshop. This Guideline is also an excellent template for drafting your own company-specific procedure for your organization.
