Course Descriptions
UTC Customized Schedule
WPI offers the Systems Engineering master's degree program on site in Connecticut. The curriculum is customized, and courses are delivered by the same faculty who teach at WPI's Worcester campus. Participants will be part of a cohort and will advance through each course as a set group, which will maximize the benefits to individuals, teams, and the organization.
Details are as follows:
- First Class: MA 501 Engineering Mathematics
- Location: Hamilton Sundstrand, Windsor Locks, CT
- Date: Starting in September 2008
- Day/Time: Each course is offered one weeknight. First course 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.; Subsequent courses 5:00-9:00 p.m.
- Duration: First course 10 weeks; Subsequent courses 14 weeks.
- Frequency: 4 courses per year
Registration and Application Information
- REGISTRATION: To register please complete the Registration Form, and fax to 508-831-5694 or email to UTC-WPI@wpi.edu. Do not fill in student ID. Put no for application as we will get everyone started on this at the beginning of the first class, and for payment, just put UTC direct bill under Alternate Billing Methods. Sign and date the form before submitting (if emailing back, your email is sufficient for a "signature".)
- APPLICATION: We will begin the application process with students at the start of the first course. It must be submitted by end of your second WPI course. GRE is recommended but not required.
Qualifying Exam Policy for Management Course ~ MIS576 Project Management
Courses that are classified as management courses by WPI require the additional step of passing a qualifying exam following the completion of the course. The qualifying exam is above and beyond the normal course requirements. It is not the final exam and is evaluated on a pass/fail grading system. This requirement is mandated by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB is the accrediting body for WPI's Department of Management. AACSB accreditation is the highest level of business school accreditation in the world. Please visit the WPI ~ UTC website for complete details.
