Extreme Project Management
NEW! Corporate Only Extreme Project Management:
An Interactive, Computer-Based Simulation Workshop
Seminar Leader: Raymond L. Sheen, PMP
Many projects today are complex, global, multi-functional, and often include virtual project teams. In addition to classic project management techniques dealing with scope, schedule, and cost management, today's project leaders are called upon to manage this increased complexity and diversity. With the added pressures of tight schedules, constricting budgets and evolving requirements, the project leader has now entered the realm of Extreme Project Management.
To survive and succeed in this environment, these project leaders need to understand more than just the basic principles of project management. They must be proficient in risk management, supplier management, quality management, business finance, systems engineering and technical issue management. Each of these competencies must be woven into the fabric of traditional project management planning and control. Furthermore, effective leadership is extremely critical in complex projects because of the ever-changing membership of the project team and the stakeholders. Organizational development and advanced communication skills are essential skills needed when performing extreme project management.
In addition to lectures, exercises, and case studies this workshop includes a highly-interactive, computer-based project management simulation embedded throughout the course. This simulation is customized to represent a "typical" extreme project for your organization's business environment. Through the use of the simulation, the participants practice the use of the various tools and techniques.
Pre-requisite: Participants must have completed training in Fundamentals of Project Management, Project Risk Management, Project Planning & Scheduling and MS Project AND be actively using the classic project management tools and techniques.
