Lifelong learning – it’s always been an integral part of WPI’s mission. Today, lifelong learning has become a reality for everyone. In order to thrive in today’s competitive climate, individuals and corporations actively seek and embrace continuing education. Trends indicate that receiving a certificate in a specific discipline provides professionals with the knowledge, skills and credentials needed to build careers. A WPI certificate is highly recognized throughout the business community.

Choose from over 50 workshops offering a wide array of topics ranging from management, leadership and project management to lean enterprise, geometric dimensioning and six sigma. Take as many single workshops as you would like.  By completing five related workshops you can earn a WPI certificate from one of the options listed below.

Workshops are available on an open enrollment basis for individuals as well as corporate delivery for organizations that have a number of people who would like to participate.

In these very practical programs you will learn how to select, motivate and lead project team members. Acquire proven, workable techniques to help you identify and solve your most pressing project problems, and learn methods for maintaining close control of your projects.

Process Improvement – Develop the skills to help reduce costs, eliminate waste, and comply with national and international standards. No matter what industry you're in, improved quality processes will strengthen the competitive position of your company. These seminars provide you with the latest tools, techniques, and strategies that can help your organization gain a competitive advantage.

Six Sigma Process Improvement – CORPORATE ON-SITE ONLY

Lean Enterprise - Learn the basic characteristics of Lean: high flexibility; low inventory; keeping a few "key" measurements; small (or no) repair areas; high performance teams; benchmarking; strong leadership. You will learn how these characteristics must be applied at your organization to meet and beat your competition.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing – This certificate program provides a means of specifying engineering design and drawing requirements with respect to actual functions and relationships of part features. With the growing demand for more specifically and economically stated engineering design requirements, today's manufacturing professionals must thoroughly understand this universal engineering language.

Leadership and Management Development –  Learn the essential management and leadership skills to grow in today's highly competitive and rapidly changing business environment.  Topics include: managing and leading teams; communicating with and motivating colleagues; managing resources well; solving problems creatively; negotiating effectively; and understanding the complexities of a global business environment.

Corporate Medical Device Leadership Certificate Program - CORPORATE ON-SITE ONLY   Certification in Leadership in the Medical Device field is rapidly becoming a sought-after professional credential. To fill this need, WPI's Corporate and Professional Education has partnered with medical device industry professionals to create a unique educational program to provide the leadership skills and training tools needed for cross functionality in this industry.
