Withdrawal Policies
Course Change and Add/Drop Policy for Distance Courses
Course change (Add/Drop) without penalty may occur within 10 days from the first day of WPI graduate classes. A $100 late fee will be charged for course changes made after Day 10 of the first day of graduate classes. Course changes cannot occur after the 17th day. Course drops after the 17th day forfeit tuition. NOTE: Days are counted on the basis of a seven day week. (Academic Calendar for semester dates)
* Please note: If the tuition was paid with either Federal or Private educational loans, the refund will be in the form of the loans being cancelled. You will still owe the fee associated with your withdrawal.
A grade of W will be recorded if written notification of withdrawal from the course is received after the 17th day. Withdrawal after the 17th day is permitted only by petition to the Projects and Registrar's Office. Notice to the instructor or discontinuance of attendance does not constitute withdrawal. Such notice must be submitted in writing to the Projects and Registrar's Office.
Incomplete GradesIncomplete grades are transitional grades and must be changed by the instructor within 12 months. If course work is not made up by this time, the grade automatically becomes an F. All students should refer to the Graduate Catalog for academic policies.
