Tuition & Fees

Tuition

The Graduate tuition for Fall 2007 and Spring and Summer 2008 is $1,042 per credit hour.

Audit Rate

Students who wish to receive the content of a particular course without receiving credit may register as auditors. Auditors receive no credit or grade. The audit rate is 50% of tuition.

Payment Information

Tuition payment is expected at the start of the course.  Students should not wait for invoicing.  Several different payments methods are available.

Late Registration Fees

Please refer to the Academic Calendar for dates and the Registration Deadlines.

Media Fees for Domestic U.S. Students

Students enrolled in video based courses (section #1950 in registration materials) in System Dynamics, Fire Protection Engineering, and Environmental Engineering can access recorded videos by two methods. If you require media, you MUST e-mail online@wpi.edu to request it. All students must be able to access their online course through a high speed Internet connection to meet the weekly syllabus requirements of their courses.  If you choose to order media, it is for your personal convenience.

Method 1 - No Cost - Access material through an archived video stream. Use our Video Test to determine if your Internet connection allows you to adequately view the video stream.

Method 2 - $150 per course - Weekly shipment of media for U.S. students who cannot adequately view the video stream in Method 1 above.

International Handling Fees

Students located outside of the continental United States are subject to a handling fee, which varies from country to country. All shipments are handled by UPS and WPI is not responsible for any additional fees charged at the point of delivery. Please contact Pam Shelley (pshelley@wpi.edu, 508-831-6789) with your complete mailing address prior to enrolling to determine the appropriate fee. This amount will be added to the applicable tuition rate and cannot be put on a deferred payment plan.

Borrowing for Distance Courses

If enrolling less than half time in the distance program you will not be eligible for Federal Stafford Loans. However, there are several loans available through private lenders that a student enrolled less than half time can borrow. Learn more about these loan programs.

Deferred Payment Plan

A deferred payment plan is available for the fall and spring semesters. By paying a one-time per use fee of $100, students may divide up to $5,000 of their tuition into three equal monthly payments. For specifics, please contact the Business Affairs Office at 508-831-5741 or accounting@wpi.edu.
