Environmental Engineering MS

"I started the MS program as a part-time student, attending classes after work. Then, my commitments expanded to the point where driving to campus became a time problem. Between viewing the streaming videos of a campus class and the course site on the Internet, I still feel like I'm part of the class. Distance courses have given me the flexibility to schedule my course work when it's convenient."

The environmental engineering graduate program focuses on two areas: water quality systems and waste remediation systems.  For more than 25 years, this program has been providing the education, training and skills to improve career opportunities in the growing field of environmental engineering. With an emphasis on contemporary topics as well as emerging research applications, WPI's program gives environmental engineers technical knowledge along with the ability to effectively manage projects involving complex managerial and regulatory issues.

Water Quality Systems

Assessment of water quality in natural systems along with the development of water- and wastewater-treatment systems designed to protect the environment.

Waste Remediation Systems

Prevention, containment, and remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated by industrial and hazardous wastes, pollution prevention, industrial waste treatment, and control of contaminant fate and transport in the natural environment.
